Olive green bedroom of Circe

The middle bedroom of the first floor is called after the name of the sorceress Circe, described in Homer‘s “Odyssey” and Ovid‘s “Metamorphosis”. Men were afraid of this goddess (and the Roman authors women described her very positively), living in remote island in the Aegean Sea. Because to every traveler, accessing island, Circe was serving the magic drink – honey sweetened up wine, with herbs that were making the inner world of a man visible in a shape of his body, that is, most of the adventurers that has tried this drink has become... the animals. The ancient authors unanimously claimed, that men, having a brave heart (of course, this was a minority) became the lions, the cruel turned into the bears, and those who were always dissatisfied with everything remained the wolves. But most of all there were the pigs in her menagerie. Only smart Odysseus escaped this fate. God Hermes advised him to eat a magical herb (botanists consider it was a wild snowdrop), and so Odysseus became resistant to Circe’s charms and remained in his human shape. He spent a year in Circe’s island feasting and making love with the goddess. Since time in island was passing by the divine laws, Hesiod’s “Theogony” says that Circe gave birth to three sons of Odysseus. And seeing the lover off to the trip, she taught him how to reach Ithaca.

The pride of the room is the famous Pre-Raphaelite style picture “Circe Invidiosa” by John William Waterhouse (1849-1917). Circe, standing barefoot on the water-monster of the obscure gulf, is focused on filling shiny turquoise blue water from transparent bowl into the blue sea water. This time the spell is for a woman – Circe’s rival the beautiful Scylla, who likes to swim in the pool. Desiring to win the love of a man Glaucus and to eliminate the rival, Circe thought out a treachery. Immersed in the poisoned water, Scylla became a monster with seven heads. Hidding in Messina Strait, she was swallowing the passing sailors, until she turned into a rock. And maybe that was the real face of an unfeeling girl, who broke more than one man’s heart? Maybe Circe just once again played her – the revealer’s – role?

Archetypal dreams come to the guests in this bedroom. Room walls, painted in warm olive green colour, symbolize feminine leadership, ability to look into the complex life situations with healthy humor, heart purification of bitterness, a new hope after deluges and floods in life. Olive green colour according to Aura-Soma’s training consists of yellow and emerald green. This energy connects the yellow level of human body – the third chakra Manipura or solar plexus – with the green zone – the fourth chakra Anahata, or the chest – like a bridge. Because yellow colour symbolizes rational thinking, intellect and willpower, and green – the voice of the heart, compassion and deep feelings, olive green color is perceived as the connection of mind and heart. This shade supports a person at the crossroads of life situations – it helps to make the important decisions, to survive in the inner transformations, to move the morass, to learn from own mistakes and successes. “What does not destroy us, makes us stronger” – reminds the wisdom of olive green colour. Transform poison into nectar – that is the highest excellence, to which this energy initiates.

Olive green colour prevails in all Circe’s bedroom detail – from the bed linen to furniture upholstery. Coloured light out of the green glass chandellier and a bra collection floods the room. The bedroom has wide doors to a shady balcony, from which you can admire the views of the yard and the surrounding areas. There are two 120 cm wide beds, awaiting the guests, joined into one king-size double bed. If wished, they can be separated.
